This community arts center is designed as an electric-only building with rooftop PV. A VRF system with air-side economizers serves the main 2-story building with offices, classrooms, wood shop and commercial kitchen. Single zone heat pump packaged units serve a 100-person theater and support spaces. The project is designed to be LEED Platinum and Living Futures Zero Energy Certified.

The building also employs a natural conditioning red light/green light notification system that alerts occupants when the conditions outdoors are ideal for natural conditioning with operable windows. The operable windows have window switches tied to the security system that double as control points, shutting off the zone fan coils when windows are open.
